As one of my colleagues said “if you believe in what you are doing, paint it on the office wall” – so we did. This was the first time that I've tried painting a mural…and it may be my last.
Two of my colleagues projected the design onto the wall and drew the outline. Then it took me around 7 hours to fill in the letters, and this is just the first coat of paint. It should really have a second coat, but I'll pass that joy onto someone else. I really had no idea it would take that long, but painting onto a block wall, with all the bumps and channels and little pits, made the going slow.
After my marathon painting session my arm, shoulders and neck were quite sore. I tell you, I have developed a new level of respect for mural painters!
