20 ways to get creative…

07/07/2012 by Sarah Ritchie

Just over a year ago I shared with you a collection of inspirational ideas titled: “29 Ways to Stay Creative. It’s a little difficult to “stay” creative unless you first “get” creative. Let’s get creative together! Here are some idea starters.

  1. Go for a walk (keep your eyes and ears open; look around; be inspired by nature).
  2. Sing.
  3. Do something to challenge yourself.
  4. Read a book.
  5. Start a journal.
  6. Write your memoirs.
  7. Listen to music.
  8. Watch children at play (fearless, aren’t they?).
  9. Watch people (if they can do it, so can you!).
  10. Take a road trip.
  11. Turn off your TV, computer and other distractions.
  12. Listen to the birds.
  13. Draw or paint something.
  14. Take up a new hobby.
  15. Resurrect an old hobby.
  16. Talk to someone new.
  17. Teach someone how to do something you know.
  18. Photograph what inspires you.
  19. Attend an art or craft class.
  20. Help others.

Now it’s your turn!
