This is the part where I get to sound like a proud parent and brag on my students! My graphic design class is almost finished a project to design a magazine cover (purely conceptual). The brief parameters restricted them to using images that they either created or photographed themselves. The theme: “where your inspiration lives”.
By the end of the project there will be at least four students (out of 18) – possibly more – who will have produced commercially acceptable results on their first attempt. Doesn’t sound like many? What if I told you that they have only been learning graphic design (and Photoshop in particular) part-time since March this year?! I feel so proud!
Here is the magazine cover from one of our early finishers, Megan Sutton. The colours are so delicious, plus Megan’s concept, composition and Photoshop skills are highly developed for the stage she is at in the course. The work is clever and scrumptiously beautiful!
