Some of the children – in our neighbourhood – have a tendancy to abandon their playthings once they have finished frolicking for the day.
During my early morning walk I spotted this sweet little chair propped against a sidewalk tree. I could just picture the young child sitting on that chair, contemplating life under the shade.
Do you find it difficult to take time to just sit quietly and contemplate? I do.
At the beginning of summer we bought a fantastic swing seat for the garden. Not only does it do its obligatory swing, but you can also push the back down flat, like a bed…ah, luxury! My only problem is that, in the last four or so sunny months, I have hardly used it…with no decent excuse to hand. The frustrating thing is that I WANT to use it…I NEED to use it…some of my most creative moments arrive at the time I am quiet and thoughtful…but I find it so difficult to be still and restful during the day. Always on the go. Never enough time to rest. Is that a “woman thing”, or just a “you have to get that sorted out” thing? Probably the latter.
Perhaps 2011 can be the year I reclaim some quiet time! How about yourself?!
