Inspiration Squares Sarah Ritchie

The very first project that my graphic design students are asked to complete is an Inspiration Squares grid.

They are given an A4 sheet of paper – with six sections marked out – and are asked to fill in each section with something that inspires them.

I thought I would give myself the same assignment, and this is my result!

You can give this a go too! Clicking on this link [Inspiration squares template] will open a pdf file which you can print out (either right click “save page as” or print directly from the web page). Then, simply fill in each of the squares with something that inspires you. The only rule is that you cannot use a computer to complete the grid. All images and text must be “salvaged” (i.e. from magazines, newspapers, etc)…OK, if you want to print some photos off the web, you can do that too!

I would love to hear what six things you came up with!
