street art, literally…

Newmarket street art

I really like it when a local Council, or business association, decides to “beautify” a district, or – in this instance – my local shopping precinct.

A number of (otherwise ugly) utility boxes have been given a street-side makeover and do a great job of lifting the shopping experience.

When I think about it more fully, I begin to appreciate the benefit that art and culture brings to a country/city/township/people group. This type of artwork wasn’t necessary, or expected. It is like a gift to the people. Cheers for that!
