What does a rural community do when there are no “proper” metal rugby goal posts to hand? They make them!
Kiwis are renowned for their “number 8 wire”*, can-do attitude. With a bit of “she’ll be right, Mate” and some ingenuity, Kiwis pride themselves on being able to slap together, patch up, or make the best of any situation. Kind of like Pollyanna meets Macgyver.
Might have something to do with living in the final frontier at the end of the world!
* “number 8 wire“: Is a term that epitomises the “Kiwi bloke” as someone who can turn their hand to anything. [Wikipedia.org]
