I have had my first “failure” painting. I was attempting a painting for my father-in-law’s birthday, but it just didn’t work out…at all…in any way.

As I had a time constraint on this one, I have had to put the painting aside unfinished. I MAY be able to resurrect it later on, but no guarantees…and it would have to be when I can look at the painting again without disgust.

IF (and it’s a big “if”) I can bring the painting to a viewable standard, I will upload it so you can see (as it is not a CMF painting, I think I can honourably hide this one away for now!).

So cheesed off and disappointed with myself. Socks for Dad it must now be.

I have one of my son’s “failure” pictures on my bedroom wall. He is a lithographer. He hates the print because it didn’t turn out how he had it pictured in his mind. I, on the other hand, think it’s one of my favorites of his work! In the eye of the beholder!

I hear you and I do agree. I just don’t think the eye of my 78 year old father-in-law would have been able to behold this particular piece. Actually, I am pretty sure it was cringe-worthy to any beholder’s eyes!
