New Zealand might not have the prestige of Europe, the commercial opportunities of the USA or the sunshine of Australia, but I am extremely grateful to have been born, bred and living (at least for now) in New Zealand.
Positioned – literally – at the ends of the earth, one might think New Zealand to be the last outpost of the final frontier. I can guarantee that we do not wear grass skirts (!), but have all the modernities (usually without the fancy trimmings) of any other westernised country.
I feel blessed to be living in a country with free speech, freedom of expression and religion and one which celebrates individuality. New Zealand is a land of natural splendour and an unlimited supply of visual inspiration…the jewel in the crown of the British Empire and my home.
It’s Day Three of the new year…what are you grateful for today?!
