Do you remember – back in the 70s and 80s – there was a recurring TV scene where some unfortunate soul would be shown with their head and face covered in bandages. Then – with great suspense and trepidation – a doctor would slowly unwrap the bandage. Da, da, da, dum…
Before I start painting I protect the edges of the canvas with masking tape. In my exuberance and liberal painting style I will – inevitably – get paint over the edges, so the tape is an essential investment.
After the painting is complete and varnish applied, the last task is to remove the tape…the removal of the bandage…the final unveling.
Canvas #9 is now complete (phew!). I will take it to work, tomorrow, to make a high quality scan of the painting. Then…it’s posting time. Stay tuned!
