Oriens of Van Cleef and Arpels packagingThis is the winning packaging design (‘Luxury’ category) in the international 2010 Pentawards. The bottle was designed by French company Brandimage, for Oriens of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Do you suppose that the cut glass top with the sparkling colours might have had just a teeny weeny influence in the success of this “luxury” perfume packaging…yes, I think so too!

Van Cleef and Arpels ringSince posting this, I have read that “the bottle’s designer, Joël Desgrippes, modeled Oriens’ flacon after a ring design from Van Cleef & Arpels’ fine jewelry collection: an enormous tourmaline set in white gold, like a flower surrounded by diamond-studded leaves.” (see picture)

Perfume, jewellery, cut glass, sparkles, opulence…what a combination!
